FEES
Erasmus Mundus Fees
Fully self-funding students will pay fees according to public prices, to be established by agreement of the three degree-awarding institutions and revised on a yearly basis. Our current fee estimate is 17000€ per year, 34000€ for the full program.
Other costs
All students will be spending Term 1 in Murcia, Spain (September-December), Term 2 in Lund, Sweden (January-June), an internship of at least 6 weeks at a location of choice between Terms 2 and 3, and Term 3 in Erlangen, Germany (October-February). For thesis research in Term 4 (February-August), students are expected to be based at one or two locations, either from these three universities or somewhere else in the world, where they have been offered opportunities for employment or co-supervision. They are also expected to travel to one MULTICOM event per year.
Therefore, substantial costs can be expected for travel expenses, visa and residence permit applications, and the installation and living costs. Health insurance, library costs, administrative costs, and cultural and social events must be added.
We estimate that costs other than tuition will amount to at least 35,000€ for the full duration of the program (2 years). Self-funding students will need to provide adequate financial proof that they are able to cover all costs associated to the program (details forthcoming).
SCHOLARSHIPS
10-15 Erasmus Mundus scholarships are planned for each edition. Scholarships cover participation costs (tuition, insurance, admin/cultural costs) and include a pro-rata €1,400/month stipend for the full duration of the program. Regular Erasmus Mundus Scholarships will be evenly distributed between EU and non-EU students throughout the first four editions (2026-2031).
Admitted candidates who have requested to be considered for financial aid will be offered funding according to their ranking for admission. The evaluation of funding applications is exclusively based on merit and international diversity (a max. 10% of scholarships for the same nationality during the first four editions). Applications for financial aid are filed separately and do not influence the admission process. Admitted candidates may be offered a full scholarship, partial funding, or no financial aid.
The 10% rule does not apply to top up scholarships for targeted regions of the world (NDICI and IPA), if applicable. These scholarships are offered in addition to the regular Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
These are the scholarships assigned to NDICI/IPA regions, for the total of the first four editions of MULTICOM (after every new cohort is admitted, these figures will be updated to show the remaining scholarships for these targeted regions):
- Sub-Saharan Africa: 5-6 full scholarships
- Latin America: 4-5 full scholarships
- Asia: 4-5 full scholarships
- Central Asia: 1-2 full scholarships
- Neighborhood South: 1-2 full scholarships
- Middle East: 0-1 full scholarships
- Pacific, Caribbean: 0-1 full scholarships
- Western Balkans: 2 full scholarships
